Hey Guys! So, my best friend Kelly moved to Charlotte recently and has been asking me for tips on where to get furniture and decor…aka the best part of moving! I agreed to write a post on how to style a chic apartment on a budget.
My apartment is a mix of new and old items both furniture wise and decor.
One of the newer items I purchased when I first moved to Raleigh, over two years ago, was this kitchen table seen above.
I had first moved to a Studio apartment and needed a table that could be resizable to accommodate more people, if need be.
This ended up being the perfect purchase, I got it off Overstock and highly recommend it, it was about $400.00 including the chairs.
My living room is probably my favorite space in my apartment, once I purchased this medallion rug (roughly $280) from Overstock it really tied it all together.
The couch is from Ashley Furniture (roughly $650) and is so comfortable, I wanted a couch I could use in the future. This would be a great sitting area couch in a house or town house.
The curtains are from Pottery Barn, cotton line, which I waited to go on sale before purchasing.
This dresser gone TV stand, to create more storage, (once in my bedroom at my dad’s house) ended up being the perfect size.
I plan to repaint it with white chalk paint in the future and maybe brighten up the brass handles.
The book case is from Target, dates back from my high school days, I LOVE the shiplap type boards inside.
I am a huge fan of working out at home so the basket beside my TV has all my weights and yoga block inside, sometimes you need to get creative in small spaces!
I am a huge fan of throw pillows, I have about 6 more of them stashed in my closet.
I really wanted to have a pop of color and my favorite coasters are blue.
I found these velvet pillows at World Market, got them with a coupon. The beige medallion gold pillow is from Kirklands, a store I found once I moved south and LOVE.
Confession, I search for MONTHS for the perfect bar stool. I went back and forth on tufted or a farmhouse rustic style, overall I am very happy with these wooden ones above. I found them at Homegoods ($79 each) and have been waiting for them to restock to purchase a third one.
For those of you who don’t know, I am from NY. The New York sign above is from Etsy.
I went back and forth at my Studio deciding if I should buy a Bar Cart or not.
On one hand I thought they were SO cute, on the other I did NOT want to spend the money.
I am so happy I didn’t, I turned this desk hubby into my own personal Bar Cart, get creative with the space you have!
What are some ways you get creative on a budget? Leave it in the comments.
