How to Stick to New Year’s Resolutions
Hey Guys! Hope you had a great new year and are ready for 2018, I know I am. The New Year brings a fresh start and new goals to be reached, but sometimes this can seem overwhelming. That is why I came up with tips on how to stick to New Year’s resolutions, so you can defy the odds.
1. Don’t bite off more than you can chew
Coming up with new goals is important for self-development but may become overwhelming if you take on too much at once.
Try to accomplish one goal at a time.
If this goal is to lose weight start with fitness first then slowly incorporate a meal plan. Use a journal to track your progress with your goals, or if its fitness related take pictures weekly, to hold yourself accountable.
2. Align Goals with Overall Well-being
These goals should be aligned with your overall well-being spiritually, mentally and physically. We all strive to be happy and healthy but this shouldn’t be based just on how we physically look, physical health is important, but start with being happy with yourself and who you are first and foremost. Tackle your wellbeing from within and work outward.
3. Aim for a Lifestyle change
The reason why most New Year’s resolutions fail, I believe, is because we set these goals for the wrong reasons. In order for these resolutions to really work we have to shift our mindset and perspective.
Are you doing the latest workout program because you believe you’ll finally be happy after weighing a certain number or are you doing the latest program to feel strong, have the support of a community and truly have better health?
Do some soul searching from within and ask yourself “why am I really setting these goals and how can I reach them for the long term and stay dedicated”. Whatever your hopes and goals are just know you are worth it and deserve to reach them.
