Hey Guys! My name is Catherine Marchetta and I am a 20 something New Yorker living in Raleigh, North Carolina.
A little about me: I was born and raised in Orange County NY, in the town that invented Velveeta cheese (can you guess it?), about 50 miles upstate from NYC.
I also grew up right by Woodbury Common Premium Outlet center, if you’ve never heard of it think biggest outlet center in the US with every brand imaginable.
Another fun fact is I grew up in the woods without any cell phone service where it wasn’t unusual to run across an occasional bear or fox and plenty of deer. I was also next to my favorite town, Warwick Valley, picture New England vibes with mountain views.
It is so quaint with many boutiques, apple farms, vegan friendly eats and the best creamery ever.
Naturally I ended up at State University of New York Schools. Firstly, SUNY Oswego located on Lake Ontario where I studied Marketing and will forever miss the lake views.
Truthfully there is no hand guide on how to navigate once you graduate. I decided to go back for my master’s degree in business administration to hone in on my skills and learn where I wanted to end up in corporate.
I enrolled at SUNY New Paltz in the Fall of 2015. Grad school was possibly the most challenging and rewarding thing I’ve done in my life thus far. I had completed my degree in ten months and couldn’t wait to start a new chapter. Once I graduated I moved to Raleigh and started my job in corporate a month later in the pharmaceutical industry doing marketing.
The weather, the friendly people, close proximity to the beach and the mountains… not to mention my rent gets me a lot further here than it would in NYC.
Since I moved I’ve been extremely blessed to have met great friends in Raleigh and can’t wait to share my adventures with you along the way.
