How to Free Yourself of Diets
If you think about it most of the day we think about “what are we going to eat next”. Should we really be focusing that much energy on food? Or, should we be more focused on achieving goals or living a more meaningful life. It’s time to dig deep and get real with yourself.
Do you eat out of emotion or hunger? What foods make you feel awful and what foods make you feel energized? Start to write these foods down and go with what works for you.
Know thy self: are you the type who can truly eat out in moderation or are you the type that has trigger foods that will start an endless binge? If you are the moderation type my hats off to you, that takes serious discipline. If you are the trigger foods type, either make a healthier version or do yourself a favor and do not keep these foods in your home.
For myself, I do better eating a more plant based non dairy diet and for a while I was eating things, because I felt there is a stigma around having dietary restrictions, just to please others. I personally eat the way I do because it works best for me, it does not mean it is the best fit for you.
Find a healthy lifestyle you can truly identify with, one that makes you feel like you’re part of a community and get excited to try new recipes.
Remember: It’s all about the mindset, tune into your emotions, and find the right foods for you.
