Why You Should Consider Home Workouts

Why You Should Consider Home Workouts

Hey Guys! It can be really hard to stay motivated in a fitness program, especially when you aren’t feeling yourself. This past year has been a struggle for me to get back into a normal routine, I had some health issues last summer and then I sprained my ankle in the Fall. I had gained ten pounds and couldn’t fit into most of my clothes. I am a person who loves routine, I use my workouts to de-stress and realign myself, so I felt lost when I suddenly had time to fill since I couldn’t workout.

Sticking to my Workout Routine

Once I was cleared to go to the gym I found myself struggling to find the motivation. I am the type of person who doesn’t like to work out in front of people, I find the gym competitive and often times discouraging. I wanted a safe place to work on my goals and feel like myself again. I have always loved working out at home, so I thought I would share why you should consider home workouts, and why it’s worked for me.

  1. It’s a Time Saver

Ever feel like you use the excuse, “Well I just don’t have time to workout”. It is harder to use this when you can easily get a 20 or 30 min workout in, in the comfort of your own home. It becomes harder to make excuses. We all have the same amount of a time in a day, make it a goal to set aside time for your health. You’ll be glad you did and feel great after.

  1. It’s Cost Effective

If you’re trying to stick to budget and can’t afford the gym then Workout DVD’s should definitely be in consideration. Some of my favorite Jillian Michaels workouts are fewer than ten dollars. When I was a temp starting out in corporate all I did was workout DVD’s to cut the cost to stick to my budget. It was the first time I never had a membership and I still stayed in great shape.

  1. You Manage your own Program

Some days I don’t feel like doing a specific workout, working out at home allows me to have variety in my routine.

If I am feeling exhausted, I can talk myself into a 30 min workout, on days I have more energy I do 45 minutes.

It becomes easier to manage when you know what you’re getting into and easier to complete. Ever gone to an hour class and couldn’t wait for it to be over? With workout DVDs you’re doing workouts you actually enjoy.

I hope this makes you consider home workouts! If you love them already, leave your favorite in the comments.
