Bedroom Makeover on a Budget
Hey Guys! Hope everyone had a Happy Holiday and New Year. I decided to share my bedroom makeover on a budget as a follow up to my apartment post.
I think everyone one way or another ends up with furniture from his or her parent’s house once they go off on his or her own.
Sometimes this furniture is older and needs some love and sprucing up, which was my case. I had received the dresser (a set my grandparents bought) and the desk from my fabulous Aunt who lives in NYC. I wasn’t ready to buy my own set since my bedroom is pretty small so I decided to paint them.
I LOVED the idea of chalk paint because its no prep, no brainer, and naturally I stalked Pinterest for some ideas. I chose the Gray color chalk paint since majority of my furniture is white, and I needed a change.
I also received the padded chair from my Aunt and I toyed with the idea of reupholstering it for a while but ultimately decided to just throw a sheepskin rug over it.
There you have it! I still need a headboard and curtain holders, so it is a work in progress, but I do think repainting helped to open the room up.
What are some ways you spruce spaces up on a budget? Let’s chat about it in the comments!
