Hi, I’m Catherine Marchetta and welcome to my self-named blog! I decided to start this blog as a creative outlet for me to share my interests and passions. I’ve always had an interest in a healthy lifestyle and I hope this blog inspires you to live a happy, balanced, healthy life as well.
A little about my backstory: when I was younger I lost a parent to a rare cancer and although I was assured it wasn’t genetic, it sparked a desire and passion for me to learn more about healthy living. This is a realization I had as I got older entering into my high school years. I had joined the track team and quickly learned what I fueled my body with really did matter in terms of performance. When I was 17 I decided to try vegetarianism after reading a book about the food industry given to me by my older sister.
When I had entered college I decided to become vegan, which was not easy on a college campus but doable. I was vegan for five years until I started getting dizzy spells and started to explore other options I should add to my diet.
I now eat based on how foods make me feel and work with my body; I am a true believer in eating for your own body type.
I still love the plant-based community and feel a sense of belonging with them, which is why a lot of the recipes you’ll find on this blog are vegan-friendly. My goal is not to sway you to a plant-based life but to guide you to have a more conscious effort as to what we put into our bodies. I hope to guide you on the journey to living a happy and healthy life as your true authentic self.
