3 Ways for Self Acceptance
Hey Guys! Lately I have been going through some life changes and entering into a new chapter. I think these changes are necessary in order to grow into who you are meant to be but often times these come on the heels of uncertainty and hardships. It can be hard to know if you are staying true to your path and yourself, that is why I wanted to share 3 Ways for Self Acceptance.
1. Admire Your Strengths
When you are feeling down, starting to question and compare yourself to others, remember your strengths and what makes you unique. Keep all of the hardships you’ve overcome, the goals you have crushed, and the lives you have touched at the forefront of your mind. Have a “can do” mentality and accept that you can accomplish what you set your mind to.
2. Evaluate the People Around You
You are the byproduct of your five closest friends. Growing up my dad would always reiterate an old saying, “tell me who your friends are, and I’ll tell you who are you”. Sometimes in order to reach the next level of growth you need to reevaluate your friendships.
Are you surrounding yourself with people who support, lift you, motivate and are loyal? Or people who are smarter than you are, can expand your thinking and grow your intellectual curiosity?
Know who you are, what you value in friendships and do not settle for anything less.
3. Accept Your Faults
We all have our faults, no one is perfect. Do you recognize your faults? Are you self aware enough to know when you default to old behaviors, or know what you need to work on? Use your flaws as a way to motivate yourself to learn from past mistakes and grow into someone who lets go of resentments and invites compassion and kindness in. Remember to not be so hard on yourself but accept yourself for your flaws.
